Newspaper notices disappear behind a paywall in a week. We built Legend Memorial so a person’s story does not.
Why we exist
When someone dies, their family has perhaps three days to write something true about a whole life, and then to tell everyone who needs telling. Most of the tools available for that are either expensive, temporary, or both.
Legend Memorial does one thing: it gives every person a permanent page, with their story, their service details, and space for the people who knew them to say something. Publishing a basic notice is free. The page does not expire.
How we work
Notices come to us in two ways: directly from families, and from partner funeral homes who publish on the family’s behalf. Every notice is read by a person before it goes live, usually within a few hours, and the family keeps control of it afterwards.
Guest book messages are moderated. If something unkind is posted, the family can have it removed by asking us, and we act the same day.
What we charge
- A basic notice — free, permanently.
- A full memorial page with photo gallery and video — a one-time fee, no renewals.
- Flowers and trees — the price the florist or planting partner charges, plus delivery.
- Funeral homes — a monthly plan, free for the first three months.
There is no subscription for families, and we do not take a page down for non-payment.
